SPRA
Thought leadership system
Social Policy Research Associates (SPRA) wanted to establish themselves as a central and transformative hub in a professional community of practice.

I worked with them to build a system to efficiently track their community's work and publish regular email round-ups of resources and updates. As part of that work, we interviewed some of the world's leading publishers of related email newsletters, who shared their tips for success. SPRA used the system we built to expand their leadership and change the way the whole community thought about its work.
Cultural Survival
Network mapping, benchmarking, strategy
Cultural Survival, a global Indigenous-led NGO founded in 1972, faced lagging social media growth, a key form of public visibility, compared to their peer organizations, despite significant overall expansion as an organization.

As part of their preparation for a strategic hire, they asked me to benchmark and offer recommendations based on the work of their most successful peers.
Sun Microsystems
Network mapping, benchmarking, strategy
Sun Microsystems, a pioneer in open source software, green IT, and corporate blogging, was preparing to launch the 2.0 version of its online communities and publishing platform. Their slogan had always been “the network is the computer,” so the stakes were high for their online network.

Sun hired me to compile competitive benchmarks, analyses, and expert input to inform their 2.0 strategy.
Splashcast
Launch & content marketing
Splashcast was a venture backed startup aimed at the independent and mainstream media publishing world. It had built a powerful publishing platform. But it was headquartered in Portland, Oregon and needed a boost in its global visibility.

Splashcast hired me to build the system that earned that global visibility.
