Stories about data turned into strategic advantage
SPRA
Building a thought leadership system
Social Policy Research Associates (SPRA) wanted to establish themselves as a central and transformative hub in a professional community of practice.

I worked with them to build a system to efficiently track their community's work and publish regular thought leadership (by email and podcast) sharing & commenting on selected resources and updates. We interviewed some of the world's leading publishers of related projects, who shared their tips for success. SPRA used the system we built to expand their leadership and change the way the whole community thought about its work.

Sprinklr, a category-creating marketing technology startup, was accelerating from $100M in annual revenue to $400 million and an IPO. The company needed to establish robust systems for analyst relations and competitive intelligence.

I lead those teams with great success.
Cultural Survival
Network mapping, benchmarking, strategy
Cultural Survival, a global Indigenous-led NGO founded in 1972, faced lagging online growth compared to their peer organizations, despite significant overall growth as an organization.

As part of their preparation for a key hire, they asked me to benchmark the work of their most successful peers and offer strategic recommendations for growth.

Sun Microsystems
Network mapping, benchmarking, strategy
Sun Microsystems, a pioneer in open source software, green IT, and corporate blogging, was preparing to launch the 2.0 version of its online communities and publishing platform. Their slogan had always been “the network is the computer,” so the stakes were high for their online network.

Sun hired me to compile competitive benchmarks, original analysis, and expert input to inform their 2.0 strategy.
Splashcast

Splashcast was a venture-backed startup aimed at the independent and mainstream media publishing world. It had built a powerful publishing platform. But it was headquartered in Oregon and needed a boost in its global visibility.
